April 4, 2007 - Luxottica Australia, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of prescription frames and sunglasses are implementing a leading e-recruitment and talent management system, developed by NGA.NET, to assist in streamlining their recruitment processes and build their recruitment capability
With over 5000 staff and 600 stores across Australia and New Zealand, recruitment and personnel management for Luxottica Australia is a large scale task.
Luxottica Australia recognised that the implementation of an e-recruitment solution for use by the in-house recruitment function would enable faster talent searches, improve the ongoing management of their recruitment processes and represent cost savings in the longer term. They then turned to NGA.NET, Australia's leading provider of online recruitment tools, to assist.
"We considered proposals from two different companies and the suitability of their applications for our business and decided that NGA.NET stood out in providing the complete solution and backup support," commented Cheryl Nichols, National Recruitment Manager and Community I-Care Manager, Luxottica Group.
The NGA-NET e-recruitment system will streamline Luxottica's current recruitment programs by assisting to build the effectiveness of their in-house recruitment function. The system will be used to manage the recruitment processes and requirements for all roles across the organisation - encompassing all retail outlets and shared services centres.
"An additional benefit of the NGA.NET e-recruitment system is the fact that we will be able to integrate our new recruiting function with our SAP system at a later date and in doing so, manage our on-boarding program into a seamless and paperless system," added Ms Nichols.
Luxottica's brands include Ray-ban, Bvlgari, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Prada, Versace, Burberry and Polo Ralph Lauren -which are stocked throughout OPSM and Sunglass Hut store networks around Australia.
Luxottica Australia is currently undertaking many exciting changes in Human Resources of which e-recruitment is but one component. They aim to complement the introduction of the e-recruitment system within Luxottica by creating a employee brand that will attract the best talent in the market place, as well as develop an internal culture that encourages the support, growth and sharing of talent.
Mike Giuffrida, CEO of NGA.NET said of their appointment by Luxottica, "We are very pleased to have such a reputable client as Luxottica Australia join our client list and implement our solution across their organisation. As a large and growing organisation in a highly competitive field, Luxottica recognise the "war for talent" and the fact that the skills shortage will lead to significant changes to the way in which organisations recruit.
"Our software will help Luxottica Australia's in-house recruitment team to ensure recruitment consistency across the entire organisation, including branding, talent management and reporting and, as they have recognised, will have numerous longer term advantages in terms of cost savings and process improvements in other areas," he added.
